About Kelsey

Kelsey devotes her practice to representing injured workers in their workers’ compensation claims. Prior to joining Kotlar Cohen, Kelsey gained valuable experience and insight by representing insurance carriers and self-insured companies in workers’ compensation matters in New Jersey.

Kelsey also previously handled complex insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts that involved a variety of liability insurance policies. From this prior experience, she gained a comprehensive understanding of the claims process and the tactics used by insurers and employers in defending claims and litigation. Kelsey draws upon this insight to not only help injured workers navigate the claim process, but to also help ensure that our clients receive the best possible outcome in their workers’ compensation cases.

Kelsey was born and raised in rural Minnesota. Upon graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Criminology, she relocated to Philadelphia to pursue a legal career and attended Drexel University’s School of Law. While in law school, she represented clients in misdemeanor bench trials and preliminary hearings in Philadelphia Municipal Court as a certified legal intern with the Defender Association of Philadelphia. Before graduating law school, she also interned at the Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office and worked as a law clerk with a general practice, civil litigation firm. In addition, she was also an active member of Drexel’s Moot Court Board where she gained appellate advocacy and brief writing experience. Her late father was a proud, skilled tradesman who dedicated his life and career to carpentry and the construction industry. Her father inspired her to develop a passion for advocating for the rights of workers and for helping others.
